The good thing about the days getting shorter is that sunrises are close to 8am right now and not at some crazy hour. Rosie and I headed into the paddock to enjoy the amazing colours thismorning. The snow is all crunchy and hard so she had fun running around on top of it with Aggie. More rain is forecast for today … turning our lovely snow into slush!

Well hello snow!
I absolutely love it when it snows. I may not be saying that in 5 months time but for now we will roll with it and be excited every time we have a snow flake land on our tongues, and laugh at Aggie as she gets a snowy beard, and enjoy walks along our road.
We moved into our little red house last week and are adjusting to a smaller house than we are used to. We are patiently working around builders finishing the kitchen floor and having no kitchen but hopefully in a weeks time we will be fully functional. For now there’s lots of macaroni cheese and cinnamon buns!

Bethan wasn’t feeling too crash hot last night.
I asked her if she would like to go for a walk in the forest and take “sick” photos.
It was starting to get dark…. my favourite time, all moody and overcast.
So glad we went. I have been really missing how busy and creative my job kept me in Australia. That time will come again I know. For now I can enjoy taking pics of my sick kids! And she does a pretty good job of looking good while feeling sick!

We were so lucky to have Camilla + Cameron stay for 4 days on their Scandi trip! I cried when they arrived and I cried when they left!
I’m glad I have photos and not sound recordings to remember their trip. One of my children was quite spectacularly naughty while they were here!

That time picking blueberries where Camilla fell in a hole and sprained her ankle. Ouch. Thank goodness for a remedial massage therapist husband to keep her looked after! Cameron is a star. And then any further walks were hobbles….

We loved that Camilla and Bethan had the same shoes.
And then there was Rosie’s crush on Cameron! She loved rubbing the back of his hair… She literally said on the last day “Can I have some of your hair so I can stick it on paper and rub it all the time!”

So last week we became the owners of a little red Swedish house.
We aren’t moving in for quite a few months because we have lots of things to do to it before then!
Painting every inside surface white, ripping up lino, laying new laminate floor boards, new bathrooms, fixing the roof, adding a mudroom and sunroom….
And eventually next year, a lovely big open plan lounge/kitchen off the end looking out over the trees and paddocks.
Its old, its quirky, but we love it.
We celebrated getting the keys with donuts at the house and exploring all the books and things the previous owner left for us. xx
